The Banking Ombudsman Scheme is a system created by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to solve customer complaints. It acts as a bridge between a bank and its customers when they have a disagreement. The main goal is to provide a fast and free way to resolve problems without going to a regular court. In 2021, the RBI launched the 'Integrated Ombudsman Scheme.' This new plan merged three older schemes into one. Now, there is a 'One Nation, One Ombudsman' system.

This scheme simplified the process by merging three separate systems for Banks, NBFCs, and Digital Transactions. It follows the 'One Nation One Ombudsman' vision. A customer no longer needs to find which specific office to contact.

This scheme simplified the process by merging three separate systems for Banks, NBFCs, and Digital Transactions. It follows the 'One Nation One Ombudsman' vision. A customer no longer needs to find which specific office to contact. They can file a complaint online through a single portal or a single email address. This makes the system more efficient and easier for common people to use. For example, a person in a village can now complain about a digital wallet issue using the same process as a city bank user.
